Beyond the Aquila Rift – The Best of
If 2016 wasn’t already busy enough, with two novels appearing, it also saw the publication of a monster Best Of, published by Subterranean Press in the United States and Orion in the UK.
Given that I’ve been publishing short fiction for the thick end of three decades, there was a lot to choose from, and while mostly containing work from the latter half of my career, it still ended up being a pretty huge book. I think it gives a good sampling of my work, and yes, there’s a lot of space opera but not just space opera. I am very grateful to Jonathan Strahan and Bill Shafer for making this happen, and I hope the book goes down well with readers.
